These Terms & Conditions apply to orders placed through the Scale-A-Ton Elements website.
By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Scale-A-Ton Elements
Scale-A-Ton Elements designs and supplies highly detailed scale model accessories intended primarily for experienced scale model builders.

2. Products and Pre-Orders
Unless otherwise stated on the relevant product page, products are offered on a pre-order basis.
Placing a pre-order reserves the selected products and creates an order request. No immediate payment is required at checkout.
Some products or components may already be available from existing production stock. Other products may require production or preparation before dispatch.
Product availability and preparation times may vary depending on production schedules, order volume, and the nature of the product.
3. Order Process
The Scale-A-Ton Elements order process is as follows:
- You place an order through the website.
- The order and shipping destination are reviewed.
- The final shipping cost is calculated.
- A payment request containing the final payable amount is sent to you.
- Once payment is confirmed, the order enters production and/or preparation as required.
- The order is quality checked, packed, and shipped.
- Shipping or tracking information is provided when available.
An order placed through the website does not require immediate payment.
4. Prices and Payment
Product prices are displayed on the website in the currency indicated.
Shipping costs displayed during checkout, if any, are estimates and are not necessarily the final shipping charge.
The final amount payable will be communicated before payment and will include the confirmed shipping cost.
Payment is required only after the final amount has been confirmed and a payment request has been issued.
Payment may be processed through a third-party payment service provider. Payment providers process payment information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Orders that remain unpaid beyond the payment period stated in the payment request or accompanying communication may be cancelled.
5. Shipping Costs
Because Scale-A-Ton Elements ships internationally, shipping costs depend on factors including:
- destination country;
- parcel dimensions;
- actual packed weight;
- selected postal or courier service;
- available shipping services for the destination.
For this reason, any shipping amount displayed during checkout is an estimate unless explicitly stated otherwise.
The final shipping cost is calculated before payment is requested.
6. Production and Preparation Times
Some products may be available from existing stock, while others may require production, assembly, inspection, or preparation after payment.
Estimated production or preparation times are not guaranteed delivery dates.
Delays may occasionally occur due to production workload, material availability, quality-control requirements, shipping disruptions, or circumstances outside the reasonable control of Scale-A-Ton Elements.
If a significant delay affects an order, the customer will be contacted where reasonably possible.
7. Shipping and Delivery
Orders are shipped to the delivery address provided by the customer.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the shipping address and contact information supplied with the order are complete and accurate.
Scale-A-Ton Elements is not responsible for delays or delivery problems caused by incorrect or incomplete customer-provided address information.
Delivery times provided by postal operators or courier companies are estimates and may be affected by customs processing, local delivery conditions, public holidays, transportation disruptions, or other circumstances outside the reasonable control of Scale-A-Ton Elements.
8. Customs, Import Duties and Taxes
International orders may be subject to import VAT, customs duties, handling charges, brokerage fees, or other taxes and charges imposed by the destination country.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise during the order process, these charges are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in the product price or shipping charge.
Customers are responsible for understanding the import requirements applicable in their country.
Scale-A-Ton Elements is not responsible for delays caused by customs procedures or for charges imposed by customs authorities, postal operators, courier companies, or other authorities in the destination country.
9. Product Compatibility
Compatibility information is stated on individual product pages.
Customers are responsible for checking product compatibility before ordering.
Where a product is described as compatible with a specific kit, manufacturer, version, variant, or scale, compatibility is limited to the products specifically stated.
Scale-A-Ton Elements cannot guarantee compatibility with:
- kits not listed as compatible;
- modified kits;
- reissued kits containing changed tooling or components;
- products from other manufacturers;
- third-party aftermarket products;
- customer-modified assemblies.
If you are uncertain about compatibility, please contact Scale-A-Ton Elements before placing an order.
10. Resin Products and Product Characteristics
Scale-A-Ton Elements products are precision resin scale-model accessories intended for model building.
Depending on the product and manufacturing process, preparation may include normal modelling work such as removal of support marks, light sanding, cleaning, test fitting, or minor adjustment.
Very small support contact marks or minor surface variations inherent to the manufacturing process do not necessarily constitute manufacturing defects.
However, damaged, incomplete, incorrectly supplied, or genuinely defective parts are covered by Section 12 of these Terms.
11. Order Cancellation Before Payment
Orders may be cancelled at any time before payment is made.
If you no longer wish to proceed with an unpaid order, please contact Scale-A-Ton Elements or simply do not complete the payment request.
Unpaid orders may be cancelled automatically after the payment period stated in the payment request or related communication has expired.
12. Returns, Exchanges and Problems With an Order
Scale-A-Ton Elements does not offer voluntary returns or exchanges for change-of-mind purchases.
If an order arrives damaged, incomplete, defective, or materially different from the product description, please contact:
Please include your order number and clear photographs showing the issue where applicable.
Customers are requested to report shipping damage, missing components, or manufacturing problems within 14 days of delivery so that the issue can be investigated promptly.
Each case will be reviewed individually. Depending on the nature of the issue, an appropriate solution may include:
- replacement of an affected component;
- shipment of missing parts;
- replacement of the affected product;
- another mutually agreed solution; or
- a refund where appropriate.
Please do not return products without contacting Scale-A-Ton Elements first. International returns may require specific shipping and customs documentation.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes any mandatory consumer rights that apply under applicable law.
13. Incorrect or Incomplete Delivery Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information.
If an order is returned because of an incorrect or incomplete address, refusal of delivery, failure to collect the parcel, or another circumstance attributable to the recipient, additional shipping charges may apply before the order can be sent again.
Any customs charges, return shipping charges, storage fees, or similar costs resulting from such circumstances may be deducted from any refund where legally permitted.
14. Product Images and Descriptions
Scale-A-Ton Elements makes reasonable efforts to present products accurately.
Because products are viewed on different screens and devices, minor differences in colour or appearance may occur.
Product photographs may show assembled, painted, installed, or demonstration examples. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, model kits, tools, paints, display bases, and other accessories shown for demonstration purposes are not included.

15. Intellectual Property
All original product designs, CAD designs, photographs, graphics, written content, instructions, branding, and other original materials published by Scale-A-Ton Elements remain the intellectual property of their respective owner.
Purchasing a physical product does not grant permission to reproduce, copy, scan, digitally redistribute, commercially manufacture, or resell copies of the design.
16. Limitation of Responsibility
Scale-A-Ton Elements is not responsible for damage resulting from:
- incorrect assembly;
- improper use;
- failure to follow product instructions;
- incompatible kits or components not stated as compatible;
- customer modifications;
- improper storage;
- use of unsuitable tools, adhesives, paints, chemicals, or finishing products.
Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
17. Privacy and Cookies
Personal information is processed in accordance with the website’s Privacy Policy.
Information about cookies and similar technologies is provided in the Cookie Policy (EU).
18. Changes to These Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in products, services, order processes, shipping procedures, or legal requirements.
The version applicable to an order is the version available on the website at the time the order is placed, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
